People who have a pet at home will confirm that they feel better when their favorite little treasure is around. But in this article, we will not talk about how happy are people with Yorkies, because you will be amazed in how many ways they improve our health.
Actually, when you welcome this little sweetie at home, you are secured for free health care for life.
Of course, doggies make us feel great when we get home and feel their happiness of seeing us. Only fifteen to thirty minutes spend with your Yorkie are enough to improve your mood.
In fact, during this time the body goes through physical changes that affect our frame of mind. The level of cortisol (stress hormone) decreases.
And production of serotonin – an important hormone medicine associated with prosperity and happiness increases.
Furthermore, Yorkies – Those Vitamins For Health Will:
1. Keep your blood pressure stable
This does not mean that you have to stop exercising and watching your weight.
But when you have Yorkie, it will help you keep your blood pressure normal.
A study conducted with 240 married couples has found that pet owners had lower blood pressure and heart rate compared to people who had no pet.
Another study showed that children with high blood pressure would efficiently decrease it when stroking a dog.
You can do your own exercise when you have a high blood pressure.
Just sit on the couch comfortably and put your Yorkie on your knees. Watch the results!
2. Help You Lower Cholesterol
To keep your cholesterol stable, doctors recommend you follow a diet, take exercise and in more serious cases – take medicines.
It has been proven that people, who have a pet at home, keep their cholesterol and triglycerides lower than those without a pet.
This is because of the lifestyle dog owners have. Going out for walks, playing in your backyard or apartment, doing exercises with your Yorkie around, all this will give a positive effect on all aspects of your health.
3. Yorkies Have Positive Impact On Your Heart
Yorkie can warm every heart! Studies show that dog owners who suffer from serious heart diseases are less likely to be life-threatening.
Also, scientists say that a pet at home will keep you away from serious cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure.
4. Fondling your Yorkie will take you out of depression
Therapists prescribe a pet as a way to deal with depression.
It is clear that no one could love you so unreservedly as your Yorkie.
You are all it has, you are his life.
Fondling this little toy made of love will surely have a calming effect on you.
And we say that from our own experience! Also, all the cares you give to your puppy – walks, playing around, feeding, bathing, they subconsciously make you feel better.
We are telling you, it is enough only to sit and watch the little treasure, playing around with his new toy and that will make you feel so appeased.
5. Yorkie Will Get You Do More Exercises
Logically, people who have a dog are more likely to be physically more active and therefore their overall body shape is better.
If you walk your Yorkie for thirty minutes every day (which we strongly suggest), it will make you move and will provide at least the minimum recommended amount of healthy physical activity a day.
Even better, separate the 30-minute walks on two – 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening.
If you want to have even more fun, try “doga”. It is a unique experience, much stronger than just going for walks, or sitting with your dog in the park.
Simply it’s doing yoga with your dog. You as a Yorkie owner are privileged – your companion is small, light, silky soft and so charming that you will be so impatient until the next “doga” session.
6. More Contact, Less Isolation
Long ago, psychologists have defined the essential role of communication in our health. Individuals, w
ho have less social contacts, are more susceptible to diseases and infections.
And people owning a Yorkie, besides communicating with friends tend to socialize with other Yorkie owners as well.
They have particular groups on Facebook and Viber, they make meetings in the park together with their doggies to discuss different topics or simply to have fun.
We have attended such meetings in the park, and we can tell you that it is so exciting.
A group of people united by the same interest and hobby, there is so much to talk about, that time is never enough.
And what is most important, people in the group Yorkie meetings are positive. They go there because they love their dog and want to communicate with guys like them.
No dramas, no rumors, just entertainment, and positive feelings. Those meetings are also the perfect place to make new contacts.
If you want to bring more customers to your business, take your Yorkie to the park and start making new connections.
7. Fewer allergies and stronger immune system
Researchers found that when children grow up in a home with a dog, they are more likely to be safe from developing allergies.
According to doctors, this leads to contact with various substances which activate the immune system of the child and help it make antibodies on early stages of life.
Even though Yorkshire Terriers are hypoallergenic and allergies suffers live perfect with them, they do help kids develop these anti-allergy antibodies.
8. Yorkie will make you feel safer
Some will laugh at that, but only Yorkie owners know that those little friends are reliable guards.
They hear all the unusual noises at home. They will warn you when someone is approaching the door of your apartment.
Yorkie will bark at the suspicious people crossing the street, and basically, they have all the instincts of the real guard dogs.
Studies show that dog barking prevents robberies. Having this “live alarm” at home increases your sense of security which is good both for your mental and physical health.
Believe it or not, living with a Yorkie will not only bring us joy and pleasant emotions, but it also has a positive impact on many different aspects of our health life.
And not only we’ve read and studied those positive effects, but we know it from our experience.

how do Yorkies feel safer I have a Yorkie and because of her height and size I know that she would not be able to take down an attacker but she would bark at him/her instead and that is the most she would be able to do. For these reasons, I do not think I would feel any less safe without a Yorkie and I encourage you to rethink these reasons other than that this article was very helpful for my assignment, THANK YOU!!!
Hey Eliana 🙂
Yorkies are great barkers and as written in the article, it is proven that a dog’s barking prevents robberies. Our Zuzi at home will warn us if someone is in front of the door or when the elevator stops on our floor. I know she can not save us from attackers but at least she always warns 🙂 I cannot expect more from such a tiny creature 🙂
